DINA LANKESTER, BSW, MA (Psych) Dina has been in private practice as a psychotherapist in Perth for over 20 years, providing individual, couple and family therapy. She was a Lecturer at the first Licenciate Programme in Marriage and Family Therapy at Anglican Marriage and Family Services (now Kinway). She has consulted to numerous government and non-government agencies, including Family and Childrens' Services, Relationships Australia, Education Department and the Health Department and Fremantle Hospital Mental Health Services.
Dina runs workshops on couple and family related topics, including: -family of origin, -couples therapy and -step/blended families -adoption -public education of mental health issues.
ACCREDITATION SYNOPSIS Australian qualifications: Dina Lankester is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and registered provider with Medicare Australia. Providers are assessed by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) as having specialist mental health expertise. Dina is also a Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Family Therapists.
US qualifications: Dina is also a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and Approved Supervisor (AAMFT). Dina trained in the US as a Couple and Family Therapist after completing a Masters of Psychology at Antioch University West, in Seattle, Washington, specialising in psychotherapy. She completed a post-graduate degree in Social Work at the University of Western Australia.
PROFESSIONAL WORK and PUBLICATIONs Dina trained as a grief counselor with the Hospice of Hilo in Hawaii, where she co-led grief support groups. She has worked as a Hospice Counselor with Silver Chain in Karrinyup and Shenton Park Hospices, and has run grief support groups with the Cancer Support Services.
PRESENTATIONS and CONFERENCES Dina has presented at national and international conferences in both Australia and the US.
